Ethics and Education

We can’t blame the leaders who are saying one thing and doing something else-even if they believe the facts, they can’t implement effective policy. That’s an outcome of today’s social reality: through our modem education we are conditioned to only think about money. We don’t emphasize moral principles in education. The underlying foundation is that if you have money and power, everything will be okay. Naturally, our leaders are a product of this system and have that same way of thinking.

Just a few people talking and educating about the needed changes is not sufficient. We need to have a movement and a real method, a revolution in modem education. New ideas and new thinking, derived from reality, can be greatly helped and supported by the scientists. This is different from serving God or serving Buddha, or preparing for the next life. It’s simply how to build a healthy human mind, and therefore a healthy human being. All of the awful events and circumstances-such as the gap between rich and poor, hypocrisy and corruption-stem from a lack of moral ethics. Even religious people suffer from this. They often think moral ethics mean serving God. No. Ethics are what create the basis of a happy human society.
